Tempered Glass not Sticking to Screen Around Edges

I have had limited success with isopropyl alcohol. The oleophobic coating is made with fluoropolymers, which have no known solvents.

I found a solution today by quickly brushing a propane torch around the edges of the new LCD and this actually burns off the oleophobic coating - allowing you to adhere to the entire LCD. This has been a big problem with X / XS / XR / XS Max

It is what it is and even if you manage to apply them correctly, the edges will lift with time anyway. Very common problem with phones that have even slightly curved glass. You should look for a "full glue" screen protectors, that are meant to cover whole front, are a bit curved and have a adhesive at the whole area. Those stick well if you center them correctly.

I'm not so sure if it's the oleophobic coating so much as the screen itself. Otherwise the tempered glass wouldn't go on the entire screen right? It typically happens at the edges which tells me is the screen maker itself. This also works with a heat gun.

I seem to have this problem and it appears to be dependent on how far the glass goes on or past the curve of the glass edges on the screen itself.

It also is affected by how strong the glue is, weak glue tends to leave air gaps on the edges of the tempered glass. This is based off using replacement aftermarket screens. Original ones with the coating seem to be a common problem I have.

We go through thousands of screen protectors a month. We actually had a defective shipment where all the edges of the screen protectors would lift. We put one on from an older supplier on the same screen and the problem was gone. Not sure if this helps
